 We all know about confidence and its importance in our lives but today we will go one more step towards understanding confidence. Today we will talk about self-confidence. Many people have misunderstood that confidence and self-confidence both are the same things but that's not true. Self-confidence comes completely from inside your body and it has nothing to do with how you look and how you are it's about how you feel about yourself.

Difference between confidence and self-confidence.


Confidence and Self-Confidence both are two different things. Confidence means being sure about something. Confidence shows that you are Confident about the things which you are telling about the world. If you are telling that your favourite football team will win the match then it shows that you are confident in your team. 

Now, self-confidence means that you are confident about yourself rather than being confident in others. Let's understand it with an example if you have a test tomorrow and you have confidence that you will score a good mark then this shows your self-confidence. Being self-confident helps you to know your capabilities and makes you sure about yourself, it gives you control in your life. 

If you don't have self-confidence within you then you will always feel that your life is out of control and you will also be confused about your career. Self-confidence does not make your life easy but instead it makes your life easy.

Self-confidence is our ability to believe in ourselves. There is a famous quote that "self-help is the best help" and to do self-help it's important to have self-confidence in our self. Self-confidence is very much important in our life as self-confidence surround us with positivity and that remains with us every time.

Self-confidence helps us in every part of our life. Many rich and successful people have one thing common in them and that is self-confidence. It is also said that self-confidence is a key to success.

Many signs in our behaviour show us that how self-confident we are. When you have better confidence you don't feel important to prove yourself in front of others because you start to believe in yourself. There are many signs like this and some of those signs are:-

1) you become a better listener than a speaker.

Forcing others to believe in your opinion a sign of low self-confidence. A confident person never wastes his energy in proving himself in front of useless people. He eagerly hears others thoughts rather than forcing others to believe in him.


2) You see yourself as equal to others.

Many people think that putting others people down to show themselves superior is a sign of confidence but that's not right. Confident people think of themselves as equal to others. They don't want to make others down instead they help others to shine. Getting jealous of small things is not their habit.


3) You don't fear to ask help.

We all want to help others but when it our time to ask for help many of us hesitate because we think that asking for help will make us weak in front of others. A confident person never hesitates to ask for help because they knew that there's nothing to be ashamed of about asking for help.


4) You accept yourself as you are.

Many people want to make changes in themselves just in an order to become perfect and in the race of becoming perfect they lose themselves. When you will stop complaining about yourself and accept yourself as you are you will start to develop self-confidence.


5) You don't fear challenges.

Challenges are the things that help us to grow in our life but many people see challenges as the problem. Facing your challenges is a sign of a truly self-confident person.

Some people develop their self-confidence easily but some fail to do this and stay underconfident. There are many proven ways by which those people who have less self-confidence can also develop confidence. Here are a few ways by which you can develop it.

 It is good to think about others but sometimes it's important to give priority to yourself. Many times we get involved in others so much that we stop thinking about ourselves, which is not a good thing.

I am not telling you to become selfish and start to take advantage of others, that's a different thing. I mean to say that you should not forget to yourself to make others happy. It is not good to make others smile by keeping yourself in pain. 

When you will start to give importance to yourself then you will also start to come closer to yourself and this thing will help you grow better self-confidence. You are the only person who is going to stay with you whether it is a bad or good time.


Don't say bad to you. 

We generally think that other people opinions and judgements affect most of our confidence but the thing that most affect our self-confidence is our thinking. Whatever we say to ourselves and think we are, our minds start to believe it.

If we talk positively about ourselves then it's a good thing but negative talks can result in a problem. One should talk negatively about himself as this can lower his self-confidence he will start to believe that he is a loser. If everybody is against you but you have your support then nobody can defect you


Make good friends.

Our friend's personality makes a heavy impact on our personality. When we have a cool friend then we also try to become like him. Similarly, if we make confident friends then by staying in their company we will also start to develop this skill. 

If you are living with negative people then it can result bad for you. you should yourself with positive people instead of staying with negative ones. 


There is another four-step technique that is surely going to help you to develop better self-confidence. The four steps of this technique are:-

Challenge your negative beliefs.

Make your cookie jar.

Set and achieve small goals.


1) Recognize your strengths.

Many people who have low self-confidence has the biggest problem that they think of themselves as useless. There can be a boy who even after scoring good marks and performing good in extra activities thinks that he is useless and his most case to low self-confidence is that his parents and teacher never taught him about these strengths. On another side, there can be a boy who is not good at studies but then also he has high self-confidence because since childhood everybody praised him for his strengths.

Self-confidence comes by learning about ourselves and by staying aware of our strengths and work points. To do this you should write your good abilities on a paper. If you don't know what is your strengths then you can also ask other people that what they think about your strengths.


2)  Challenge your negative beliefs.

We all have some Subconscious beliefs about ourselves in our minds and those beliefs were developed when we were all kids. 

Everything related  to personality and psychology comes to a point which is our childhood. Many people who want to become perfect think that "I will not accept myself until I am perfect". You may also have some thoughts like this which you can't see consciously but are deep in your mind.

You should start to challenge this belief, you don't need to become perfect to accept yourself. You might be thinking that "other people around me are more talented than me" and these are the beliefs that you have to change. You should start to think that how can you can break your limits by working harder no matter how much talent you have or not. By changing your beliefs from negative to positive you can increase your self-confidence level and this will also change your attitude towards challenges. 


3) Make your Cookie jar.

I have got this technique from David Goggins who is one of the toughest people. David's technique says that you have to imagine a cookie Jar in your mind and this jar your every cookie represents your every accomplishment. The things in your life that make you proud are your cookies.

This cookie jar will always remind you of your achievements in your life and this small thing will help Whenever you will need any motivation. By reminding your past achievements you will get an energy boost in yourself to achieve new goals. If you feel a problem remembering your cookie jar mind then you can also make your cookie jar in a book so that you can watch it whenever you will need it. 


4) Set and achieve small goals.
 

The last three points that I have mentioned above were about your mindset but this point is about taking action. you have to make a small process-oriented goal which you know that you can do. A process-oriented goal is a goal in which you focus on the path of the goal more than the goal.

 If your goal is to score 95% then your process-oriented goal should be studying daily for 4 hours. Geeting 95% may not be in your control but studying for 4 hours is completely in your control. You may have some different goals, so you can use this technique in your way. This is a very useful technique as it brings your focus to your work.


Now let's understand how can these four simple steps can help you to increase self-confidence.

The first step will help you to understand that you may not be perfect but then also you have very much potential to achieve a great thing.

The second step will help you to remove the negative beliefs that have been residing in your brain.

The third step helps you to remember your all past achievements so that they can help you in bad times.

The fourth step shows that by achieving small goals you can get momentum to get success and increase self-confidence.

You look attractive.

Everybody wants to look attractive so that they can impress others easily. To do this many people give their most focus to dressing but the that matters most to make you attractive is the presence of self-confidence. Self-confidence doesn't always stay inside ourself it reflects in our face. A confident person looks different from a crowd. Having better self-confidence can help you to impress others easily in places like interviews or seminars.


You will not require any motivation to help you.

The motivation that the outer world gives you is temporary but inner motivation which is your self-confidence doesn't get faded easily. When you have self-confidence you start to believe in yourself. It gives you the energy to take action.


It gives you chance to become a leader.

You also might have never seen a coward and under-confident person in a place of a leader because only confident people are seen as capable of becoming a leader. It's right also because a leader has the responsibility of his full team and if a leader only does not believe in himself then how can he expect others to believe in him. you should have self-confidence in yourself so that you should stand as a leader.


It reduces stress and makes you happier.

Self-Confidence works as a stress buster for every age people. Confident people stress very little which makes them happy and cheerful.


New things will not make you fear. 

Many of us feel fear to get out of our comfort zone and try out new things. When you have self-confidence within you, you start to handle every situation with ease. You stop feeling insecure and alone in new places.
